Pilot project in Udbina
PILOT SCOPE
The subject of the tender is the implementation of the project documentation for the "Wood chipper dryer with associated warehouse”. The heat energy for the dryer will be produced from the existing heat in the cogeneration plant, which is the by-product of the electricity production.

for two dryers and two wood chips warehouse that will be part of the existing pellet production and cogeneration plant in Udbina.

SHORT DESCRIPTION
Most of the company yearly income comes from wood pellets, wood and woodcuts G30-G80 products. The wooden leftovers are used as an energy source to produce electrical energy trough ORC process. Burning of the wooden leftovers produces heat energy which is used for ORC process, however the heat surplus remains not completely used, which leads „waste heat” the topic of this pilot project.
The Energy Institute Hrvoj Požar has conducted a tendering procedure for co-financing the project documentation in the cogeneration plant of Moderator company, Udbina. The procedure has finished on 4.6.2018. and the sub-contractor has the obligation to finalize requested documentation by the 15.7.2018.
Expected contribution to the CE HEAT project from the pilot:
- Defined procedure for issuing legal permits for construction of typical waste heat recovery system;
- Time schedule for implementation of the waste heat recovery project;
Technical and economical valuation of the waste heat recovery project.
