Regional Development Agency in Bielsko-Biala
Regional Development Agency in Bielsko-Biala (ARRSA) is an experienced, regional organization operating in the Southern Subregion of Silesian Voivodeship in the field of the regional development and capacity building, regional policy making, business environment creation, business support activities and services for SMEs. ARRSA runs a business incubator and accelerator that supports innovative ideas of to-be-entrepreneurs from different sectors, in line with the smart specializations of the region indicated in the strategic documents: ICT, automotive, power industry, green economy and emerging (cultural and creative) industries.
In the structure of ARRSA there is also a FabLab – a small scale fabrication laboratory for 3D modeling and rapid prototyping. Thus, it contributes to popularization of up-to-date technologies and at the same time, the FabLab is an example of cross-sectoral cooperation – network of local SMEs, R&D, education and community are collaborating within its infrastructure. It’s a shared tool for increasing regional efficiency and competitiveness.
ARRSA is strongly involved in EU co-financed projects as a regional partner, proven by taking part in such programs as: Interreg IIIC, Interreg IIIB, CADSES, Interreg Central Europe, Interreg Baltic Sea Region, Urbact, EC Intelligent Energy Europe, Horizon 2020. Projects included: consulting services for businesses, trainings for individuals, promoting innovation and technology transfer, seed/venture capital funds (also in the CCI sector), talent creation and competence building.
