Croatian Geological Survey, Zagreb, LP
Croatian geological survey (HGI-CGS) is foremost public research institute in the field of geosciences and geological engineering in Croatia, with 66 expert researchers and 12 junior researchers. The researchers at HGI-CGS are highly experienced and competent in hydrogeological investigation (hydrogeological mapping, tracing, GW protection, monitoring, GW modelling) and engineering geological systems (protection, identification of new resources, work on sustainable usage of existing geological mapping) and solving environmental problems (landslides, flooding, soil contamination). HGI-CGS collects and distributes geological information to economy, public administration, scientific community and to the public in general. Researchers are active in the popularization and promotion of geological science through workshops for all age groups, science fairs, professional and scientific lectures. HGI-CGS collaborates with many institutions of similar affiliation in the country and on transnational level – universities, organisations and institutes. Furthermore, HGI-CGS provides consulting services for private companies and stakeholders in above mentioned areas.
As the lead partner, HGI-CGS manages, coordinates and guides partners as well as participates in all WPs. In the pilot action HGI-CGS is fully involved in the field investigations, as well as data analysis and modelling tasks.
