Study paper “Smart transport concepts“
Following desk research and assessment of studies issued by the EC, a work paper summarizes the emerging trends and models, enabled by advanced technologies, concerning smart solutions for rural areas, with a focus on youth mobility.
The partnership developed a work paper “State of the art and the future of smart transport concepts for rural areas” which analyzed emerging trends and models, enabled by advanced technologies, concerning smart solutions for rural areas, with a focus on youth mobility. Responsible partner, T-Bridge, created this work paper depicting and analyzing different categories of mobility solutions such as:
- DRT - Demand Responsive Transport
- ISS – Interchange shuttle service
- DRS – Dynamic ridesharing service
- ST – Scooter Taxi
- SR – Scooter ridesharing
- ABS – Agile bike sharing
- CS & e-CS – car-sharing and e-carsharing
- E-LM – Electric light mobility
- I - Infrastructure
- SDS – Self driving shuttle
- S&M – Strategy & Management
- MaaS – Mobility as a Service
The main focus of the study is the rural and peripheral context, in which existing mobility solutions that meet the needs of users were evaluated, in detail for young people, who represent the vulnerable category, due to geographical aspects: living in rural areas means not having a regular transport service, means moving with the car, means not being able to satisfy their needs and being isolated.
If you want to read about the mobility solutions/projects related to each of the above-mentioned mobility categories from 4 states and continents: Europe, China, the UAE (United Arabian Emirates), USA - total of 139 projects, check the details in the Study paper on the State of the art and the future of smart transport concepts for rural areas.
