PhD students discussed UGB in Salzburg
On March 7 RSA iSPACE organised a study visit where partners from Croatia and Italy were invited. In this thematic working group innovative GIS solutions for green space management and development were discussed with local experts and researchers. In the gardening office in Hellbrunn the efforts for public green management by Salzburg Municipality were presented. The participants reported on the progress of their specific pilot activities and exchanged knowledge with students from the doctoral college of Salzburg University on current UGS research. Afterwards, the group visited the nature conservation department of Salzburg State Government and got insight into the EU LIFE riparian forest restoration project in the Salzach floodplains. Finally, a guided tour to the Glanspitz was offered, where the urban redesign of a public green space could be observered on the spot.
