Title of the pilot: Built heritage valorisation programme including renewal plan and utilization/operational concept developed jointly with stakeholders
The key-stone for revitalization of traditional crafts and trades are young people, who have the possibility and knowledge to become bearers of traditional knowledges. Pilot action in Vodnjan-Dignano is executed through two connected types of actions:
a) the reconstruction of olive scale building
b) trainings and workshops for youth implemented in reconstructed olive scale building
With the first type of action, a training centre for young olive farmers was created with the reconstructed the old Olive House of the City of Vodnjan-Dignano. The pilot action was conceptualized in a way that young olive farmers form integral part of implementation process of building renovation, in order to make a place which is suitable to their needs, along with novel technical solutions interesting to young visitor and necessary for workshops for local farmers.
Second type of action comprehended trainings and workshops for young olive oil farmers, making olive oil tradition interesting for the youth, and involving young people in revival of olive oil making in the area of the city of Vodnjan-Dignano. Workshops were covering topics important for young olive oil farmers: production, branding and presentation, entrepreneurship.
Number of youth reached: During the pilot action implementation, 198 youngsters were directly informed regarding the project and interacted with the project’s staff at the youth targeted event held in Vodnjan. 30 persons participated on workshops
