CITY OF RIJEKA
The City of Rijeka has necessary capacity, resources and experience for the development and realization of the project as well as means to assure its sustainability in the future. It has 440 employees, working in 17 departments. The activities of the City Department of Culture (24 employees) that will directly be involved into the project include: • Monitoring of work and management of cultural institutions established by the City and in its ownership: Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, City Museum, Rijeka City Library, Puppet Theatre Rijeka, ArtCinema Croatia and Croatian National Theatre Ivan Zajc in Rijeka; • Taking part in the preparation and realisation of cultural manifestations of importance for the City, • The Department systematically monitors activities regarding the protection and conservation of cultural assets, cooperates with competent services and institutions regarding all the issues of protection and conservation, and also drafts short-term and long-term plans for the use of resources collected by monument annuity.
