The COMODALCE project presented at the ISTEN project meeting
4 December 2019
The Port of Trieste presented the COMODALCE project during the 5th Steering Committee meeting of the ISTEN project, held in Trieste on December 4th 2019.
“ISTEN - Integrated and Sustainable Transport in Efficient Network” is co-funded by Interreg ADRION Programme, and aims at qualifying ADRION ports as strategic nodes and hubs for the ADRION Region by setting up strategies, a transnational cooperation network and a joint action plan to improve hinterland intermodal connections, pushing in particular rail freight flows and last mile connection to the TEN-T Corridors.
ISTEN, led by the University of Reggio Calabria, gathers ten partners from Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Greece and Italy.
ISTEN Project Partners are currently finalizing the main project output, i.e. the Strategic Action Plan which will address common needs and challenges of ADRION region and create synergies with neighbouring Regions. The Action Plan will enhance the exchange of best practices and improve the knowledge management across the port stakeholders in the area, guaranteeing the durability of project results for improving virtual/physical integration and cohesion in the ADRION area.
Within this framework, the Port of Trieste presented the main outputs foreseen by the COMODALCE project, identifying the ISTEN strategic action plan as a valuable template and contribution to the knowledge tool and territorial strategies COMODALCE Project Partners will develop over the next few months.
