German UNESCO World Heritage Day
7th June 2020
On June 7, 2020 the German #UNESCO World Heritage Day was organised focusing on the theme "World Heritage connects". This day was launched by the German UNESCO Commission in 2005, targeting a total of 43 cultural and 3 natural UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Germany.
Our German partner Stadt Angermünde has a component in its doorstep, belonging to the UNESCO family: the #beech forest Grumsin is one of the 78 beech forest component parts of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe".
In this video, staff of the Angermünde City Administration as well as engaged citizens describe, what the beech forest Grumsin means to them. Watch it (in German) here and here!
