KETGATE PIVOT IN THE DISCUSSION ON THE EUROPEAN DIGITAL SINGLE MARKET PLAN
Last 24th May in Mestre Veneto Innovazione organized the workshop "The European Digital Single Market Plan - new forms of aggregation and specialization among Digital Innovation Hubs" in the frame of SMART SPACE project financed by Interreg Alpine Space Programme.
The meeting started with a view on the strategies adopted by the European Union and initiatives launched by EUSALP to encourage the adoption of digital systems to support the economy.
Participants discussed the forms of collaboration in the Alpine Space and what regional stakeholders are asking policymakers to support the digitalization of the economic system.
Representatives of institutions, competence centres, Digital Innovation Hubs, PIDs – the digital business desks of the chambers of commerce - and business associations were invited.
On this occasion, Veneto Innovazione presented the KETGATE project focusing on how it can meet the needs of businesses in terms of innovation. The transnational collaboration between technology providers and business support organizations roused a particular interest among participants.
The representatives of the entrepreneurs judged the role of the business support organizations very positively. They also appreciated the possibility for industrialists to start innovation projects with foreign research and technology organizations always availing themselves of local assistance points.
The meeting ended with a debate comparing the expectations and the barriers in the adoption of Industry 4.0 approaches. The participants proposed possible supporting actions that institutions should prepare to favour their implementation.
