Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) are drivers of innovation and set important impetus for an intelligent and sustainable economic growth in Europe in order to ensure the future viability of our society. However, there are major differences in access for SMEs to KETs within Europe. These are particularly evident in many Central European countries where a suitable infrastructure for KETs is still insufficiently available.
Thanks to our Partners from the Research and Technology Organisations (RTO) and SME institutions the KETGATE project was able to fulfill its mission, which was to strengthen the regional innovation capacity in Central Europe through the transnational network where companies have access to KETs independent of their location and language. The network expanded from 8 KETGATE points and 3 RTOs to 10 KETGATE points and 20 RTOs from Central Europe. This growth shows the potential for providing KET services to SMEs, opening the door to the full expansion of the KETGATE network in Central Europe.
The operational deliverable of the KETGATE services were tested with pilot projects. Within this, SMEs that so far had low access to KET services received support from high competent KET-providers to help them solve their technological challenges
Furthermore, many KET-providers in our network worked together in joint transnational projects and a CE-wide partnership started, which ensure a future broader service provision capacity for SMEs within the KETGATE network.
the project provided six promotional and informational videos showing the details of the pilot actions, their effects and impact on the further development of the company's product/service on the market.

KETGATE developed various tools to facilitate international cooperation between RTOs and SMEs. The toolbox includes support for the matchmaking, i.e., KETGATE platform and brokerage, organizational support, i.e., contract templates for international multi-stakeholder projects and promotion, i.e., through success stories.
In the document below 5 tools are exemplary presented. Members of the KETGATE network have access to the complete toolset with over 20 innovation support tools. KETGATE, with the help of this toolbox, enables transnational service provision for SME through RTOs forefront in KET.
Virtual brokerage event
In May 2020 we organized brokerage event in order to connect SMEs with Research and Technology Organizations in the field of Key Enabling Technologies. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the brokerage event took place online: https://ketgate-central-europe-brokerage-event.b2match.io/

Action Plan for a CE-wide KETGATE Network - and beyond
In last part of the project, the KETGATE network was open for new members in order to expand it. Several new Business Support Organizations and Research and Technology Organizations have joined it. In order to expand and strengthen the network we have prepared an action plan. You can find it here
