Workshop "RTO ready for upgrade" in Katowice, Poland
The workshop was organized by the PP4 - Upper Silesian Agency for Entrepreneurship and Development Ltd. (GAPR) in a close cooperation with the University of Silesia in Katowice and Silesian Observatory of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology. It was held at the University of Silesia premises in Katowice. The workshop agenda combined informational part about KETGATE project, Institution competencies in Key Enabling Technology (KET) areas with workshop on the specific potential of participants.
Focus of the workshop:
- to present add-value of the KETGATE project to invited Silesian Research & Technology Organisations (RTOs)
who use and develop KETs, including KETs in nanotechnology, - to identify the potential of Silesian RTOs in six pre-defined areas of KET development and implementation,
- to identify and evaluate present and future conditions of running day-to-day business in KET development by the Silesian RTOs as well as to pursuit the opportunities of getting involved in and maintaining collaboration with other KETGATE-based RTOs and SMEs.
The workshop was attended by representatives of 5 research institutions providing a wide overview of the competences and services offered in Silesia Region: University of Silesia in Katowice (http://english.us.edu.pl/), Silesian University of Technology (https://www.polsl.pl/en/Pages/Welcome.aspx), Institute of Non Ferrous Metals, Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials, Central Mining Institute. Moreover 6th R&D institute - University Of Bielsko-Biala (http://www.eng.ath.bielsko.pl/) will take part in mapping by sending their questionnaire and contribution – this will allow a complete overview of the state of art in Silesia Region.
