How can Public Administrations be efficient through energy reduction? First Transnational Workshop about Energy Performance Contracts and Demand Side Management

Jihlava - On Monday, May 22, 2017, an International Workshop on Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) and Demand Side Management (DSM) took place at the Regional Authority of the Vysočina Region. The organizer of the workshop was the Vysočina Energy Agency, which is part of the international project Interreg Central Europe 2014-2020 called Together TOGETHER  - Towards a Goal of Efficiency Through Energy Reduction. 

The workshop demonstrated what can be achieved by increasing energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption in public administration by using/introducing the EPC method/Energy Performance Contract and implementing energy savings by changing the behavior of building users.

The workshop was opened by Pavel Pacal, Vice-president of the Vysočina Region. Interesting contributions from project partners such as Mr. Antonio Zonta, project coordinator TOGETHER from Treviso (IT) and Libor Gazovic from SIEA (SK) followed. Manuel Nina (PT), who is an expert at the behavioural Demand Side Management DSM, spoke out, delivering an inspiring set of showcases and practical examples related to the possible solutions and techniques for engaging the buildings’users in energy efficiency measures.

The workshop was closed with the presentation of the 2 European projects tackling the energy efficiency under the behavioural component: HORIZON project “Greenplay” and Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE “Enrgy@School Project”

The aim of the "INTERREG CENTRAL EUROPE 2014-2020 TOGETHER” project is to initiate improvements in the energy efficiency of buildings in Central European public administration by involving users in energy management and to change the vision of building views as a whole of functions and relationships Between physical space, technological devices, and user behavioral needs.
