Pinkafeld, 20th July 2017

Only one day after their team Kick Off, all partners of digitalLIFE4CE attended the first public event, which was organised by the Project Leader team Peter J. Mayer and Alexandra Weghofer at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland (FHB) on the campus.

The day started with a warm welcome by Peter J. Mayer (FHB). He  introduced the degree programme of the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland and the digitalLIFE4CE project to the public. To underline the importance of FHB for the project, vice-rector Michael Roither (FHB) and head of health department, Mr. Erwin Gollner (FHB) introduced the position of FH Burgenland in an international context and goals of the FHB. They also provided an overview of the health care and digitalisation study programmes.

On this base the guests got a deep insight into digital health in Austria and the best practice in Austrian Healthcare by Dr. Benjamin Bukor, representative of Austrian health ministry. He explained the drivers and the strategy behind the implementation of the ELGA system.

Giving another example of digitalisation in healthcare, project partner Oscar Mayora form Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK) talked about the connection between digitalisation and health care in Trentino (IT). He also explained how to create quadruple helix competence centres, to promote health care communication, transfer, coordination, and cooperation.

After these informative presentations all guests were invited to the regional booths. Here seven regional booths from each Project Region got the possibility to present their Region and their Health Care System. Each Project Partner came up with interesting projects, excellent solutions and best practice cases from their Region. All guests and project partners were able to exchange knowledge in the field of digitalisation in integrated Healthcare.

At the end of the day, all participants were invited to discussions about transnational Integrated Healthcare System Solutions at Round Tables. They dedicated themselves to answering the questions how to identify and share priority topics that could be a base for cooperation during project implementation and how to  figure out how this topics could be implemented at region or transnational level.

The results of this lively discussion will be used in the further project implementation. The first public event was positively noticed by all participants and gave an important base for knowledge transfer and networking between project partners and stakeholers.
