ChemMultimodal was presented at the TRA2018 in Vienna

Vienna, 17 April 2018

Project partners from the Warsaw School of Economics (PL), represented by Marzenna Chichosz, Aneta Pluta-Zaremba and Katarzyna Nowicka, presented the project and its achievements with two posters at their booths at the international TRA conference 2018 in Vienna. The project's posters titled "Management of chemical freight transport emissions in Poland: Potential for CO2 reduction" and "Sustainable transport planning - the case of chemical sector in Central Europe" were presented for 3 days during the TRA18 conference. Both posters of the project met with great interest of the conference participants. The conference was well-attended and the project partners had some good discussions with conference participants. Moreover, the project team had the unique opportunity to present the project and its aims to Prof. Alan McKinnon (Professor at Kühne Logistics University) who expressed his great interest in the project. McKinnon's methodology and findings on average emission factors serve as the basis for calculating transport related CO2 emissions with the ChemMultimodal CO2 calculator. Alan McKinnon spoke at the TRA18 plenary session on "Decarbonisation & Future Growth: How to Change Our Mobility System & Remain Competetive". In addition, an article by the project team which deals with measuring and managing emissions resulting from chemical goods' transports will be published soon in the conference publication.
