Invitation to a summer school programme Coupling technologies to use low and medium depth hydrogeothermal energy
HealingPlaces project is strongly related to hydrogeothermal energy so exchanging knowledge between different spheres such as geophysics, hydrogeology, environmental engeneering is of utmost importance. Colleagues from the Geothermal DHC - Research Network for Including Geothermal Technologies into Decarbonized Heating and Cooling Grids are happy to announce that a 8-day summer school "Coupling technologies to use low and medium depth hydrogeothermal energy« will be held between 9 and 16 July 2021 in Slovenia and Croatia.
It is organized within trainings of the COST action CA18219 Geothermal-DHC with partners from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering University of Ljubljana (NTF UL), Geological Survey of Slovenia (GeoZS), Croatian Geological Survey (HGI-CGS) and Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering of University of Zagreb (RGN UZ) .
Attendees will use geothermal concepts to learn utilization of the available geothermal potential, regarding if it is shallow or deep geothermal. Geothermal energy utilization systems can be applied anywhere, we just need a sound knowledge of proper project development and application of best possible technical solutions. The organisers strongly encourage applicants that are PhD and postdoc students or early career investigators in geosciences, geothermal, mechanical and energy engineering, environmental sciences, mining, economics and project development, but professionals who deal with any aspect of geothermal within their work and MSc students interested in geothermal energy use can also attend.
There will be a pre-selection of applicants and some scholarships available to cover part of your travel and accommodation costs.
The registration to the first Geothermal-DHC summer school “Coupling technologies to use low and medium depth hydrogeothermal energy” is now open! Applications for financial support by our COST Action will close on the 31st of May, 2021.
Students will be able to get granted 3 ECTS for a Thermogeology course at the MSc programme level at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering of University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Additional information is available in the attached flyer.
