Photo Competition at the CEETO Protected Areas Open Day
June 3rd, Rügen, Germany – In the framework of CEETO Protected Areas Open Day, the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Southeast-Rügen organised a Photo-Competition that counted with 160 participating photos, from which 13 will be portrayed in the Biosphere Reserve´s calendar.
The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Southeast-Rügen held its CEETO Protected Areas Open Day on April 18th 2019, an event that aims to foster networking among local communities of Protected Areas and increase their sense of belonging. In preparation of this event, a photo competition was organised and the 13 winning pictures were presented during the Open Day in a photo exhibition.
From January to March 2019, hobby and professional photographers were asked to submit their best pictures via an online form. The theme of the photo competition was "Biosphere Reserve Southeast-Rügen: Man and Nature". Over 160 pictures were submitted from which 13 images were selected by the steering committee to be published in a 2020 Biosphere Reserve calendar. Below you can see the additional winning images that, togehter with the three Prizes, will conform the 2020 Biosphere Reserve calendar:

The photo competition and exhibition was organised in the framework of the Interreg Project CEETO, which focuses on the development of sustainable tourism management and action plan in protected areas.
