The Higher Education in Smart Specialization project
On 29th of November, the Lublin Conference Center hosted the first meeting in the Lubelskie region of the Higher Education in Smart Specialization project - HESS project, organized by the Lublin Center for Research on Innovativeness.
The purpose of the meeting was to present the HESS project in Lubelskie region and to encourage interested institutions to get involved in the cooperation by presenting case studies of other European regions participating in the project and discussing ideas and ways to engage with regional representatives of universities and research and scientific centers.
At the meeting, the HESS project was presented by Krzysztof Mieszkowski representing the Joint Research Center with the support of a video conference by John Edwards from the Joint Research Center and Marcin Kardas - an expert on the S3 Platform.
The Lubelskie region was represented by representatives of the Medical University of Lublin, The Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation from Puławy, The New Chemical Synthesis Institute from Puławy, Institute of Agrophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and employees of the Lublin Center for Research on Innovativeness.
As part of the meeting, a discussion was held on the opportunities and challenges for higher education institutions, and ways to strengthen them in the field of smart specializations of the region. The meeting was also an opportunity to present the current activity of the Lubelskie Voivodeship in the field of smart specializations and the implementation of related international projects including SMART_watch project.
It was the first stage of meetings under the Higher Education in Smart Specialization project, subsequent meetings next year.
