»Re-Use: Key Element of a Circular Economy in Central Europe and beyond«

In the first week of June 2020 the Interreg SURFACE final conference »Re-Use: Key Element of a Circular Economy in Central Europe and beyond« took place online in form of two interactive online events! The number of 160 registered people from more than 20 European countries underlines the relevance of the topic of re-use and is proof that the theme of the conference was brought into practice.

Webinar "Giving Re-Use a Home – Smart Re-Use Parks" (2.6.2020)

On Tuesday, 2.6.2020, the topic of "Giving Re-Use a Home – Smart Re-Use Parks" stood in focus of the 2 hour event. First the project partners presented their Smart Re-Use Parks implemented as pilot actions during the 3 years long project. After a short break Juha Lehtikuja from the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Re-Use Centre Ltd and Laura Niessen from Rediscovery Centre Ireland gave insights into their experiences and status quo of re-use in Finland and Ireland.

The event was closed with a plenary discussion on the theme of “COVID-19 impacts and other current challenges on the Re-Use market” moderated by Berthold Schleich (Waste Prevention Association, AT) and questions from the audience.
