Social(i)Makers Festivals in Austria

The Social(i)makers Festival and dynamic Kick-off of the Social Innovation Academy in Austria had its motto  “Shaping Social Innovation”  (Soziale Innovation gestalten) at its core. It took place in cooperation with the NPO & SE Competence Center of the Vienna University of Business and Economics in Vienna at the university premises on September 5th.

The first part introduced Social(i)makers and its Social Innovation Academy and hosted also presentations of the Interreg Project SENSES in order to highlight the thematic area of stakeholder engagement as well as a presentation of the  recently published book “Social Return on Investment Analysis“ of the experts Olivia Rauscher and Christian Schober (NPO & SE Competence Center).

The second part of the Festival was about showcasing social innovation in practice through a podium discussion. Invited discutants were  Marisa Mühlböck/ discovering hands, Perrine Schober/ Shades Tours, Daniela Schallert/ ABZ*AUSTRA, and Stefan Steinberger/ refugees(code)/New Austria Coding school. Their common ground was their entrepreneurial mindset for social good.
