Szombathely spreads the Word in France

Two members of the Szombathely NewPilgrimAge team took part of the General Assembly and
Board of the Directors Meeting of the AVEC Association (Alliance of Euro-Mediterranean Cultural
Cities) in Arles, France on 18-19th of June 2018. Andrea Csapláros, Change Driver of the Local Stakeholder Platform held a
short lecture about new initiatives of the city in the field of valorisation of cultural heritage,
describing the aims and activities of the NewPilgrimAge project among others. Representatives of
Arles, Chartre and Tours (France), Szombathely and Bábolna (Hungary), Community of municipalities
of Dannieh (Lebanon), Birgu (Malta) and Bela Palanka (Serbia) listened to the project objectives with
great interest.

The meeting also offered good opportunity to discuss the question of applying for the UNESCO
Intangible heritage label with the representative of Tours. The deputy mayor of Tours and Andrea
Csapláros agreed on close cooperation regarding a common proposal to UNESCO in the future
