Presentation of the new integrated ticket Trieste-Ljubljana

On 18 April, the presentation of an experimental cross-border single ticket to travel on the vehicles of two public transport operators between the cities of Trieste and Ljubljana was opened at the CEI HQ by CEI Secretary General, Roberto Antonione.
Thanks to the collaboration of the two operators - Trieste Trasporti and Slovenske Železnice (Slovenian Railways) - citizens can buy their integrated ticket online at an economical rate and travel between the two cities without interruption using the railway station of Villa Opicina as an interchange hub between the two means of transport.
The initiative – being part of the CONNECT2CE project, started in early March and will be tested until the end of August 2019.
In his intervention, the Regional Minister for Infrastructure and Territory, Graziano Pizzimenti thanked the CEI-ES for delivering tangible results through the pilot activities regarding the new intermodal solution between Trieste and Ljubljana.
The dissemination event, was complimented by a round table on the theme "Results and challenges of promoting public transport in a cross-border dimension" moderated by CEI Project Manager, Paolo Dileno.
