HEALTHY AIR INFO DAY for students in Ostrava

On Tuesday, May 7, 2019, the HEALTHY AIR INFO DAY was held at VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, organized by ACCENDO – Centre for Science and Research, reg. org. in cooperation with VŠB – TUO within the project AIR TRITIA / UNIFORM APPROACH TO THE AIR POLLUTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR FUNCTIONAL URBAN AREAS IN TRITIA REGION. The educational event for VŠB - TUO students was focused on presenting information on improving air quality of the region.

At the information stand, students were informed about the territory of the TRITIA region, about the regions and cities involved in the project, and the ways in which students themselves can contribute to improving the quality of the air they breathe.

Students were also asked to complete a quiz. In most cases, quiz results proved their good knowledge of the air pollution issue, although the students were often surprised how badly the local domestic boilers are involved in air pollution. Among 150 participants of the event there were about 15 foreign students who successfully completed the quiz in English.

All participants were rewarded with small promotional items and leaflets. The students also appreciated watching the thematic video presentation "Country Tritia", which they considered both amusing and shocking. Interest in information about the AIR TRITIA project was higher than expected.
