94 m deep well drilled in Stuttgart-Feuerbach!

A new monitoring well with a depth of 94 m was drilled in Stuttgart-Feuerbach to determine the flow pathway of deep aquifer and provide necessary information for the development of the numerical model. The well was drilled up to the mineral water aquifer “Upper Muschelkalk”. Since flowmeter measurements showed that major groundwater flow in “Upper Muschelkalk” occurred at two depths that are geologically weathered, two screening sections were built: from 72 m to 82 m depth and from 85 m to 94 m depth.

An integral pumping test (IPT) was performed by applying the innovative equipment with two pumps and a Packer in between. In such a way, two layers were completely hydraulically separated, which enabled to perform both pumping tests with only one installation.
