Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts
The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts carries out administrative and other tasks referring to: development and improving competitiveness of Croatian economy, instruments and measures of economic policy; industrial policy, policy of innovations and new technologies application; carries out tasks referring to research and exploration and exploitation of mineral raw materials except for energy; participates in development policies in the field of processing, wood-processing and food industry; industry development guarantee fund management; tasks referring to application and exercising the intellectual and industrial property rights and promotion of creativity in industry and trade with a view to developing competitiveness of Croatian economy; strategy of facilitating ad promoting investments and export, defining and elaboration of Standard Cost Model (SCM) methodology for measuring and targeted reducing administrative burdens on economy; functions as central coordination body for application of the rules of procedure and quality control of SCM methodology.
The Ministry carries out administrative and other tasks referring to the trade activity on the internal EU market; supply and prices; national coordination of activities on internal EU market, including technical legislation and quality infrastructure, coordination and development of national policy in the field of standardization, accreditation, conformity assessment and metrology; market conditions and developments; consumer protection, strategic commodity reserves.
The Ministry carries out administrative and other tasks referring to development, improvement and coordination of public procurement systems, improvement and development of concession system within its competence and supervision over its implementation, as well as enhancing and development of public-private partnership system.
The Ministry carries out administrative and other tasks referring to small and medium entrepreneurship; crafts; cooperative system; export and foreign investments promotion, improving competitiveness in SMEs and the corresponding tasks referring to regulations impact assessment on small business, comprising also the application of MSP test; acts as central coordination body for application of rules of procedure and quality control of MSP test application, balanced regional development of entrepreneurship; impacts of economic system and economic policy instruments and measures on development of crafts, cooperatives, small and medium entrepreneurship and business operations of craftsmen and entrepreneurs; promoting application of innovations, new technologies and establishing and operation of free zones and entrepreneurship zones in the field of small and medium entrepreneurship; systematic promotion of entrepreneurship, promotion of participating of small and medium entrepreneurs in public procurement and public private partnership procedures; providing for international cooperation in the field of crafts and small and medium entrepreneurship; preparing and implementation of special programmes of the Government of the Republic of Croatia in the field of economic development and competitiveness of crafts, cooperative system, small and medium entrepreneurship.
The Ministry participates in preparing and management of strategic and operational documents and programmes for absorption of EU funds and other international financial sources intended for enhancing competitiveness of crafts, cooperatives, small and medium entrepreneurship.
The Ministry carries out tasks referring to participation of the Republic of Croatia in activities of the EU bodies in the fields within its competence.
