The EGU General Assembly 2020 

Last month boDEREC-CE partners form Croatian Geological Survey, University of Ljubljana and Public Water Utility  JP VOKA SNAGA participated in the annual meeting of the European Geosciences Union (EGU).

The EGU General Assembly is the largest and most prominent European geosciences event, attracting thousands of scientists from all over the world. The meeting’s sessions cover a wide range of topics, including volcanology, planetary exploration, the Earth’s internal structure and atmosphere, climate, energy and resources. This year, due to COVID-19 situation, the assemble was held in an online format called Sharing Geoscience Online. A programme of 701 scientific sessions was formed with 18,036 abstracts and accompanying 11,380 presentation materials.

The opportunity to share boDEREC-CE research and actively discuss the challenges with other colleagues was given during scientific session chat „New challenges to address risk assessment and remediation of groundwater from emerging contaminants“. 

The representatives of Lead Partner (LP) team presented the main project objectives and pilot activities with a published abstract „Emerging contaminants in water resources of Croatian karst - boDEREC-CE project“. The University of Ljubljana (PP06) together with the Public Water Utility  JP VOKA SNAGA (PP04) from Ljubljana have published an abstract and presented a poster on "Detection and assessment of the emerging contaminants in the Ljubljana Basin, Slovenia – preliminary report".
