E.g. Zuglo demonstrates the use of rainwater and grey water in a kindergarten. At the University of Split, water consumption monitoring using wireless technology was used to reduce water consumption. In Turin, an urban youth hostel set up a recreation area on the roof of the building, an aeroponic greenhouse to grow herbs and a rain garden in the ground next to the building to reuse rainwater. In Maribor, on the other hand, rainwater and treated wastewater were used to produce recycled building materials in a municipal company producing building materials.
Ms. Hanna Lewandowska (Energy Management Office, Bydgoszcz City Hall) presented the pilot investment realized by the City of Bydgoszcz, located at the City Hall building, 9-15 Grudziądzka St. As part of the investment, a rain garden in a container was created in front of the front wall of building A. Ms. Aleksandra Rajczyk and Mr. Jacek Ciescinski (MWiK in Bydgoszcz) presented a pilot investment realized by MWiK on the premises of Waterworks Museum in Bydgoszcz at 242 Gdańska Street. Here the investment included several types of alternative solutions for rainwater management.
