New ideas from China's air travel industry
As the COVID-19 situation gets under control in China, one of Chinese airline operator, China Eastern Airlines, introduced a "Fly at will" ticket discount packages that resulted in a surge of air-travel in last two weeks.
What is the connection to Circular Economy? Well, the sudden drastic decrease in ticket prices and the increase in the number of travelers brought the "average passenger load factor" up by 20% in some cases event 90%. The low "load factors" - a low percentage of occupancy of airplanes is one of the main factors air-travel is so damaging to the environment. This shit in ticket pricing can possibly change the way airlines operate and help them, not only to remain in business in the COVID-19 times, but also more sustainable.
