Is sustainable mining possible?
There is a caveat in the development of renewable energy systems such as wind turbines, solar panels etc. They are all built out of metal. And all of the metal we use still comes from the crust of our (only) planet. The problem is that extracting those materials we need still include environmentaly destructive methods.
That creates a certain paradox.
We want to save the environment and the climate by producing more and more renewable energy systems but in order to do that we extract more and more materials from that same environment by destroying it.
But maybe there is an solution to this paradox and here is a very interesting STORY...
