ENERGY WEEK SPLIT-DALMATIAN COUNTY, TRANSITION TO CLEAN ENERGY

4th - 8th June 2018, Split (HR)

In the framework of the "European Energy Week 2018" (EU Sustainable Energy Week 2018, www.eusew.eu), the Split-Dalmatia County, together with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce - Regional Office Split, University Department of Professional Studies - University of Split, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture - University of Split, Faculty of Economics - University of Split organized from 04. till 08. June 2018: ENERGY WEEK SPLIT-DALMATIAN COUNTY, TRANSITION TO CLEAN ENERGY - Which paths to take?.  Main guiding idea that transition to Green energy represents a process and will require a number of measures that include research and development activities as a chance for the establishment of a New energy system characterized by reliability, flexibility and environmental acceptability. In addition to this, surely each of the fuels will have an appropriate role on this path. Through a series of discussions, the intention is to define possible measures / projects and to try to identify potential funding models, incentives and the role of available EU funds in the final workshop, and to look at the measures that need to be incorporated into the new multiannual financial framework for the period 2021-2027. The entire workshop was well attended by experts as well as by the wider public from all around the Croatia and Europe. Main agenda was:

  • 4th June 2018 - Global transition considering present situation and specificities of the Mediterranean area, Croatian Chamber of Commerce - Regional Office Split
  • 5th June 2018 - Natural gas and gas absorption heat pumps, University Department of Professional Studies - University of Split
  • 6th June 2018 - Solar power plants: From practical and administrative point of view, University Department of Professional Studies - University of Split
  • 7th June 2018 - Low Emissions Mobility, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture - University of Split
  • 8th June 2018 - Energy transition: Models of financing, encouraging and EU funds, Faculty of Economics - University of Split


City of Split attended the ENERGY WEEK SPLIT-DALMATIAN COUNTY as a project partner in CitiEnGov project. CitiEnGov project was presented on 6th June 2018 by Project coordinator Hrvoje Matas. As part of the project activities in the City of Split, a Pilot project for the modernization of Public lighting (Pilot action – Green public lighting in the City of Split) was implemented in May 2018 and presented in details as an example of Pilot project good practice. Other activities from the project like generation of energy plans, education and promotion for citizens of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources through Energy Café, were also presented.
