Made in Saxony-Anhalt: Child protection app goes online

The free child protection app "KiSchu" offers help in identifying child welfare risks. It is the first app of its kind in Germany.

The app „KiSchu“ supports assessing whether a suspected child is at risk of harm. Depending on the age group of the child concerned, the user has to answer questions. The results will be automatically evaluated and a legally compliant step-by-step recommendation for action is issued. In addition, the app helps to identify suspicious cases in a comprehensible way and to inform the responsible authorities in a standardised way.

The app is aimed at all those who have to deal with children in their professional or private lives. It can be used intuitively and requires no prior knowledge. KiSchu can be used completely anonymously. Providing personal data of affected children is optional. Data protection is paramount: the app fully complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

The app was developed by the child and youth welfare centre KJHZ Groß Börnecke and the start-up Perdix Creations located in Köthen, which successfully participated in the DelFin pilot programm in Saxony-Anhalt.

The app can be anonymously downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store.
