The ENES-CE project has come to a close, but for many partners of the project and stakeholders affected by our work, the journey to climate neutrality has only but begun.
ENES-CE project consortium partners got together in the believe that successful collaboration between citizens and public bodies can unlock not only better energy planning, but also enable and enhance development and implementation of community energy initiatives, a cornerstone to sustainable energy transformation in Europe.
Working with local communities across 5 central EU countries, the project fostered co-creation of local energy cooperatives and citizens energy groups. It has promoted and stimulated engagement of citizens in the design of local energy strategies and worked to ensure that approaches and lessons learned through the project remain available for further capacity development.
