PGM in Budapest, 9-10.11.2021

The ENES CE consortium has been lucky enough to realise an in-person partner meeting and study tour in Budapest last week.

It was great to see all the teams again, discuss the progress, challenges, and future opportunities of community energy together, while also gaining some quality socializing time between us.

We started our 2-day meeting with a study tour of Zuglo Municipalty in Budapest- There we have seen some of the municipal good practices on energy efficiency and biodiversity (green roof on local kindergarten), new bike lanes and river regeneration works as well as some bad practices of new developments not complying with urban planning rules, exacerbating the urban challenges pf the area.

The PGM meeting brought together project teams to discuss their activities with a strong focus this time on recent developments regarding establishments and activities of community energy entities in pilot areas as well as pilot projects being implemented as a result of joint energy strategy planning activities of these local communities.

We spent the evening tasting delicious traditional food of Hungary, at the courtesy of our Hungarian hosts.

Day two was dedicated to administrative and communications matters and last but not least seeing some sites of beautiful Budapest for those who could spare some time before catching the ride back home.

Thanks again to organisers and everyone that joined and contributed to the success of this event.
