EfficienCE at the European Mobility Week
As the European Mobility Week is promoting clean and sustainable urban transport, partners of the EfficienCE project also organised or participated at local Mobility Week events. The European Mobility Week is an awareness raising campaign, which took place for the 18th time in 2019 between 16 and 22 September. This year’s theme was safe walking and cycling – these transportation modes help to keep our bodies healthy and at the same time are not damaging our environment. Three of our partners promoted EfficienCE during this week.
18-19 September:
Mobilissimus represented the EfficienCE project with a stand at the Emobility Forum 2019 in Budapest where over 500 participants attended. This two-day conference and exhibition focused on electromobility and the attendees came from various backgrounds, including car manufacturers, energy companies, investment and banking, Ministries, etc. Having such colourful public, not surprisingly a wide range of topics were touched upon, such as electric vehicles, car sharing, smart districts and future trends in sustainability. The conclusion was that the road is long till electromobility becomes a common trend, but that is the most promising way. EfficienCE leaflets were distributed to those who were interested in the project.
You can see pictures of the first day here and the second day here.
19 September: University of Maribor organized an event titled „How to change travel habits in Maribor?” at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture which 350 high school students attended. They talked about why we need to change travel habits, what to choose as an alternative to a car in Maribor (bus, cycling, walking) and how autonomous vehicles will transform our mobility. The discussions also touched upon bike and car sharing and some field presentations with the university’s equipments (e.g. driver's eye movement tracking, VR airplane, traffic modeling). The EfficienCE project was promoted by roll-ups, brochures, etc.
21 September: This year’s edition of an event organised yearly by Gdynia within European Sustainable Mobility Week was an Electromobility Day connected with the celebration of 90th anniversary of public transport in Gdynia. The aim was to promote electric means of transport in the city (and convince the citizens and tourists to use them on everyday basis as well as raise their awareness on the importance of their daily transport choices with regards to the environment), such as trolleybuses, e-cars, e-bikes, e-scooters, etc.
The event was organized by the city of Gdynia and partners (including one of the partners of the EfficienCE project, the Trolleybus Transport Company of Gdynia (PKT). The event offered several attractions for the participants, such as presentations of the electric trolleybuses, possibility to test various e-vehicles and there were stands by different vendors in relation to the theme. One of the stands was of PKT where leaflets were distributed about the EfficienCE project and one person was informing visitors about the aims of the project.
