HAPPY AGING LAB STUDY VISIT

In 2008, a group of business managers, scientists and leading experts in the care sector joined forces by establishing an independent platform to promote more entrepreneurship and better quality care through innovation. Under the guidance of Professor Piet Stinissen, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Natural Sciences of the University of Hasselt, Happy Aging LIVING LAB has become an inspiring membership organization.
The laboratory uses infrastructure and creates a healthcare incubator on the university campus. Happy Aging Lab is 300 seniors and 950 professionals or healthcare professionals: experts in the field of happy aging. This includes brainstorming sessions and interviews, as well as all kinds of practical tests of new high-tech products and services. Happy Aging Lab introduces new ideas in cooperation with companies, care organizations, knowledge centers and decision makers. The laboratory checks which innovations offer real added value and organizes inspiring events. All this aims to enable older people to stay at home and enjoy a good quality of life.
