6th Partnermeeting of InterGreen-Nodes

Research Group for Transport Logistics Welcomes German-Italian Delegation to University of Applied Sciences Wildau

The focus of the partner meeting was the joint exchange on the project status as well as the outlook regarding the remaining project duration until June 2022. In the summer, the guidelines for a smooth development of green nodes as well as regional action plans were already published in the project to achieve a change in support of environmentally friendly transport. Also at the technical level, the progress of the demonstrators' testing has been assessed, which will be bundled into step-by-step guidance on, for example, green building certification (LEED and BREEAM) or experiences on all-electric operation of trimodal terminals. These milestones support the coordination between the responsible parties at the node level and stakeholders in freight transport and network the actors from practice and politics.

Outlook

Through the wide progress of the project, the partnership discussed the integration and consolidation of an environmentally friendly freight transport framework and the sustainable production and use of goods at EU level, as well as the necessary tools for nodes, e.g. a toolbox for spatial planning.

The consolidation and dissemination of the project results will be organized in cross-thematic trainings with stakeholders in spring 2022.

“An example of reusing old infrastructure in a modern way”

Due to the pandemic outbreak, it had not been possible for the Intergreen Nodes team to meet in person since November 2019. This made the on-site meeting with the representatives of the Berlin-Brandenburg Joint State Planning, the Chamber of Commerce of the region Venice and the Italian Institute of Transport and Logistics (ITL) all the more enjoyable. After the successful meeting, the guests were shown around the university campus. In the aftermath, Guiseppe Luppino (ITL European Projects - Head of Unit and President of Open ENLoCC) told us: "It was amazing to visit your university, it is an example of reusing old infrastructures in a modern way."
