InterGreen-Nodes at the General Assambly and Rail Forum
InterGreen-Nodes partners receives the associate partnership in the Scandria®Alliance
The general assembly of the Scandria®Alliance took place in Berlin on 2nd of November 2021. Here, the representatives of the cities and regions met to agree on even closer cooperation and to coordinate new collaborations. Die University of Applied Sciences Wildau, Unioncamere del Veneto and OPEN ENLoCC were awarded the certificate for an associated partnership by Guido Beermann, Chairman of the General Assembly and Minister of Transport of the State of Brandenburg.
In view of the current European Year of Rail 2021, the members at the General Assembly expressed their support for the European Commission's plans to set up an action plan to promote international long-distance passenger rail transport and pledged their cooperation in the initiative.
In their vision, the members of the Scandria®Alliance formulated the following joint objectives:
- High-quality transport services for cross-border commuters
- Attractive night train connections
- Integrated timetables and ticketing systems
- Efficient intermodal connections
- Sufficient capacities for rail freight transport
In addition to increased cooperation in the field of rail transport, the members of the Scandria®Alliance are committed to improving the framework conditions for the use of clean fuels. Joint transnational project initiatives are currently being prepared for this purpose.
