Joint Progress Report Summary

The Social(i)Makers project aims at contributing to the long-term development of a transnational community of social innovators able to answer to the social challenges of Central Europe. To this end, the project will train the financiers, entrepreneurs, policy makers and citizens of the involved territories to design and launch social innovation initiatives by using collaborative operational instruments. Since its inception in August 2017, Social(i)Makers has taken the first steps toward the implementation of its training offer. The 13 partners met up for the first time in Modena in October 2017, where they built up the project team and planned the upcoming activities. In order to understand the social innovation learning needs of Central Europe, partners were committed to involve 4 main target groups (i.e. financiers, social entrepreneurs, academia and policymakers) through the submission of a survey on the social innovation needs of the territories involved in the project. The project partners are currently working on the analysis of data collected and the final report on the social innovation weaknesses and strengths in Central Europe. The partnership will have soon a picture of the social innovation environment in the involved territories on the basis of which it will tune its support to financiers, social entrepreneurs, citizens and policymakers to enhance SI capacities.

Joint Progress Report Summary

Over the next months, Social(i)Makers will launch the Social Innovation Design Academy Transnational Training Course. To this end, partners are working to define the content of the 7 modules to be taught through the project educational tool - Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and its on-site trainings, namely: Impact Investing, Social Business, Social Innovation Policies, Active Citizenship, Technology for Social Innovation, Impact Assessment and Stakeholders Engagement. The discussion on the modules content started in Maribor in December 2017 and the syllabuses will be ready soon.
