LAirA Project Final Conference & Greenairport Meeting

Join us for the final event of the LAirA Project which will take place on 5 December 2019 (09:30-15:30), at Budapest Airport. Please RSVP by sending an e-mail to BUD.Oszkar@bud.hu by Friday, 29 November.

In the framework of the LAirA Project, we are delighted to invite you to the project's final event, organised by Budapest Airport and the Municipality of Budapest District XVIII Pestszentlőrinc-Pestszentimre: Future-proof transport solutions in Central and Eastern European Airports.

This event will mark the end of the Interreg Central Europe Project LAirA (Landside Airports Accessibility) and also the year-closing event of Budapest Airport’s Greenairport Program, which role is to facilitate green cooperation at the airport. The conference will be held at Budapest Airport, Terminal 1 Event Center on 5 December 2019.

The main focus of the conference is to develop the multimodal, smart and low carbon accessibility of airports in Central Europe, while fostering a new vision and specific solutions to be integrated organically into the existing transport networks. The main aim of the LAirA project was to reduce the quantity of energy and emitted CO2 used during passenger and cargo traffic between the airport and its vicinity.  To provide the professional background for the developments necessary in airport regions, the project partners reviewed the necessary environmental mobility actions of participating airports, drafted studies, developed guidelines defining specific measures, and implemented specific mobility pilot developments in seven designated areas of green mobility (electric mobility, air-rail links, walking and cycling, shared mobility, information technology systems, wayfinding and road public transport). The development of these areas impacts approximately 56 million passengers and 39 000 airport employees annually at Vienna, Budapest, Warsaw, Milan, Stuttgart, Dubrovnik and Poznan Airports.

Invited guests include partners involved in the implementation of the project, local and municipal experts, and decision-makers involved in the implementation of project results and representatives of Budapest Airport’s domestic business partners.

A draft agenda of the event is available here

Participation is free, but subject to registration. To register, please email us by Friday 29 November at: BUD.Oszkar@bud.hu
