Landscape Park Strunjan at the GREEN Fair, Slovenia
Landscape Park Strunjan presented CEETO project and its sustainable tourism offer at the GREEN Fair - International Fair of Sustainable Technologies and Green Lifestyle - in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia.
From the 4th to the 7th of April of 2018 and under the auspices of the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Slovenia, seven protected nature areas connected to the Community of the Natural Parks of Slovenia were presented at the GREEN Fair in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia.
The GREEN Fair, International Fair of Sustainable Technologies and Green Lifestyle, is an event where ideas and products that benefit consumers, the environment and society together are presented. Likewise, in the fair visitors can get to know more about projects and organizations that give preference to positive social and environmental effects. Its main objective is to give a joint appearance to natural parks in Slovenia.
Landscape Park Strunjan at the GREEN Fair
In this edition of the GREEN Fair, one of the key topics was sustainable tourism of natural parks, and how parks in Slovenia contribute to the promotion of these activities. Landscape Park Strunjan, one of the natural parks in Slovenia, was represented at the Fair and presented the possibilities of sustainable tourism of the park, as well as the project CEETO Interreg Central Europe in which is a partnering institution.
Sustainable tourism contributes to the concept of sustainable development and nature friendly behaviour. Whenever possible we should use public transport or leave the car outside of the protected area and enter the park on foot or by bicycle or, in the case of Landscape Park Strunjan, also by vessels. This kind of behaviour is also an opportunity to experience other parts of the protected area and reduce the tourism pressure on the most visited parts of the park.
Sustainable Toursim in Landscape Park Strunjan
In Slovenia a lot of people visit natural parks, so it is important that we are aware of the problems of massive tourism. Sustainable tourism can have a lot of positive effects, such as reduced pressure on nature and consequently a more pleasant experience of it by tourists and visitors.
