What’s next… for our regions and our business? How can we benefit from S3 in the post2020 perspective?
Smart Specialisation - a term known only to a small number of people, can become crucial for the global and regional economy at the time of worldwide crisis caused by COVID-19. What are these specialisation, what impact they have on our regions and how to manage them in a new European finance perspective - world-famous specialist will seek the answers to these questions during the international conference "What next..?" organized within the SMART_watch project.
3 years - this is how long it took Partners from 7 Central European countries to collect information on smart specialisation. Audits, evaluations and reports were carried out in order to create a very detailed Competence Map - a dedicated online tool, build to clearly and transparently indicate the development potential of the selected region. These are the main objectives of the SMART_watch project, created in frames of Interreg Central Europe programme.
After the information-gathering phase, there is a time for the summary. That's why this Friday, May 29th, SMART_watch is organizing an international conference to discuss the future of smart specialisation. The meeting, during which panellist from all over Europe will connect from their homes, will be divided into 5 thematic blocks:
- The future of smart specialisation in the new EU funding period,
- Scenarios for Business Support Organisations after 2020,
- Future of medicine in frames of smart specialization,
- ICT smart specialisation in the new financing period,
- Challenges for energy and sustainable buildings after 2020.
The conference will start with a few words of introduction, provided by Karolina Tilman from DG REGIO. She will give a short presentation outlining the situation on recent offerings and the future of smart specialisation in the 2021-2027 EU programming period.
All participants will be able to take an active part in the discussion, you are more than welcome to make comments and ask questions during the session.
