Workshop and General Meeting in Prague, 10-12 October 2017
In the frame of the INTERREG-project, SUSTREE conducted a workshop on "Intraspecific climate response-functions for forest trees," from Oct 10-11 2017 at the Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague.
SUSTREE aims at developing seed-transfer guidelines in climate change across national boundaries. (see www.interreg-ce.eu/SUSTREE). Within this workshop, project partners from Central Europe merged their national information on provenance experiments into a common database and discussed joint data analysis and publications. The database mainly included provenance means for growth traits and mortality as well as metadata for trial site locations and provenance origin. With these data, SUSTREE aims to build climate-response functions as basis for practical recommendations for provenance transfer in climate change. In addition to the exchange of data and experience an introductory lecture into provenance climate-response functions, including exercises with shared R-scripts was also provided to the participants. We are mainly interested into 7 important species in Central Europe:
Picea abies,Pinus sylvestris, Larix decidua, Abies alba, Fagus sylvatica, Quercus robur, Quercus petraea
