Leipzig, 25. September 2018

Klepsch Strotmann

The Saxon State Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer came together on 24. September 2018 for the Foreign Cabinet meeting in Brussels to discuss the continuation of the European policy priorities. On the sidelines of the Cabinet meeting, Health Minister Barbara Klepsch held talks with representatives of the European Commission. In addition to a working lunch of the entire Cabinet with EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger, the Minister met Maximilian Strotmann. He is a consultant on the steering committee (Cabinet) of EU Commissioner and Vice-President Andrus Ansip. The conversation was about the digital future of medical care. Therefore Minister Klepsch introduced the project "digitalLIFE4CE", which was also presented last week at the Saxon Day of Telemedicine in Leipzig. This project is funded by the EU program Interreg Central Europe with approximately 1.3 million euros. In the project the partner regions are developing a Central European network of excellence in the field of  innovation in integrated healthcare systems solution.

"I am pleased that we have Saxon representatives in this EU project with two actors from Leipzig. An important concern is the creation of innovation and test rooms with standardized framework conditions for the health service. Here I am counting on a European solution and hope for practical applications especially in the border regions," said the Minister.

In the InterregCE project digitalLIFE4CE seven partner regions are working on better digital healthcare solutions for all citizens in the regions. The German partners from Saxony are Healthcare Forum Leipzig GmbH and HEALTHY SAXONY – VFG e.V.
