The Alliance day at Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute
On the 6th of March, 2018, a Women's Day was held at the Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute (MMCI) in Brno. The event was organized by the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer (a member of European Cancer Patient Coalition - ECPC) in cooperation with MMCI.
Main participants of the event were patients. On the program, one could find new information on relevant clinical studies, patient experiences, patient council and information on the international INTENT project. A special guest from abroad, Patrick Migueu from the Jules Bordet Institute in Brussels, had a talk on the support of clinical research by means of cooperation between patient organizations and oncology centers.
The main purpose of the meeting was therefore to talk about clinical research and project INTENT and to introduce a new tool to find clinical trials with ongoing recruitment of breast cancer patients. At the same time, patients and patients' representatives were given a questionnaire mapping their ideas of patient centered care.
Both active and passive participants expressed their satisfaction with the event.
