URBAN INNO AT MIPRO 2017

The 40th Jubilee of the International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics, MIPRO 2017, will be held in Opatija, Croatia, from May 22nd – 26th, 2017. The main focus of the Convention is to present ICT trends in industry, education, science and local authorities to numerous participants from more than 30 countries, through various panels, round tables, workshop conferences and seminars. The event will also include an Exhibition of equipment, services, technical and technological solutions, in which the City of Rijeka is going to take part with the thematic stand ‘Smart city projects’.

Two ongoing projects, promoting the ‘smart city’-concept, along with the institutional Open Data portal, will be presented during the exhibition: Interreg CE URBAN INNO, and IEE FIESTA (Families Intelligent Energy Saving Targeted Action). The City of Rijeka, as the Lead partner in the URBAN INNO project, will thereby have the opportunity to introduce the project on a general and local level to more than 1.000 participants, mainly representatives of national and local authorities, government agencies, science and research institutions, lead ICT companies, public service providers, business support associations, and media and NGO related to innovative entrepreneurship.

MIPRO 2017 is considered to be the largest ICT convention in region supported by the Government of the Republic of Croatia. Primorsko-goranska County, Cities of Rijeka and Opatija, Universities of Zagreb and Rijeka, and the most important ICT companies in Croatia are also patrons of this major ICT event. Increasing the visibility of the URBAN INNO project and dissemination of its concepts and outputs to high-level audiences will be the main objectives of Rijeka’s exhibition performance.
