10th Charter Network Meeting 2017
The main European actors of sustainable tourism gather in Italy to celebrate its biannual meeting.
Every two years, the network of Sustainable Destinations awarded with the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas (ECSTPA), comes together for experience exchange.
The 10th edition of the Charter Network Meeting took place in Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park, Italy, and it was organised jointly by EUROPARC Federation and Federparchi - The Italian Federation of Parks and Nature Reserves. Both institutions are also working together as project partners in CEETO and, although their functions in this project are different, they both represent reference bodies on sustainable tourism in Europe. Futhermore, representatives from WWF Adria and Medvenica Nature Park, who are also involved in the implementation of CEETO as project partners, attended the event.
The event gathered 80 participants from 13 nationalities during a 3-day event, and included a plenary session and five workshops where participants learned from their European peers, and draw the future developments of the Charter. Within the meeting, a benchmark in the story of the Charter took place with the announcement of the new ECSTPA logo, and a new facebook group for better connecting the members of this network.
