Project name Excellence 4 Heritage (E4H) project: Excellence for built cultural heritage management across central Europe
Objective Objective 3.2
Priority Natural and cultural resources
Aim Damaged and neglected historical buildings, not renovated for years, or abandoned, are a common feature of the whole of central Europe regions. In the view of this challenge, the E4H project starts from the basis that only a strategy focused on excellence in the management of built cultural heritage can make a difference. In pursuit of excellence, we will build on the results of previously funded INTERREG Central Europe projects and other projects funded by the European Union (e.g. Horizon 2020 projects) in order to foster innovation and quality cultural management across central Europe regions.
Results The Excellence 4 Heritage (E4H) project will exploit transnational and EU-wide experiences that showcase excellence following two different approaches: upstreaming (better policies) and downstreaming (new target groups). The project is willing to consider aspects such as:
- Public-private partnership as a means of cultural projects financing and management;
- Safeguarding, conservation and preservation of cultural heritage;
- Sustainable management of cultural heritage including environmental and energy issues.

Partners involved The idea of the E4H project comes from the RESTAURA partnership (a preselected project to apply in the 4th call).
Partners requested We would like to get in contact with previously approved and preselected projects under INTERREG Central Europe in the topic of cultural heritage (BHENEFIT, FORGET HERITAGE, HICAPS, PROTECHT2SAVE, RUINS, VIRTUALARCH), as well as other projects funded by programmes directly-managed by the European Commission dealing with the management of cultural heritage (e.g. Horizon 2020). Objective:
- find institutions willing to become partners in the E4H project;
- exchange with other proposals being prepared for the 4th call under INTERREG Central Europe programme in the “Cultural heritage” priority.
