Project and stakeholders´ meetings in one in Slovenia
We´ve decided to joint three events in one and enjoy some quality time in Slovenia.
On 16th of April 2019, a midterm review meeting and steering group meeting took place in Ljubljana. We´ve discussed project progress with joint secretariat and then planned activities for the rest of the 2019. Lynx monitoring is running well in all countries. Annual reports for lynx year 2017/2018 are done in Dinaric and South-East Alpine populations, BBA population´s one will be finished till June 2019. Stakeholders involvement is a key issue – we communicate with them during monitoring work, transnational stakeholder visits, we take part in their events (e. g. hunter´s markets, etc.). There will be a lot of events for public during International lynx day on 11th of June. Conservation strategy for lynx in BBA area is under construction, roundtables with stakeholders about the aims of the strategy are organized around now. We´ve exchanged information and experiences within the team and harmonized our time planning.
Next days were focused on knowledge sharing among slovenian, german and czech stakeholders and partners. These countries took part in a transnational stakeholder visit. We were joined by members of LIFE for Bear team from Romania. We visited lynx enclosure waiting for an inhabitant from Romania, phototrap as well as hair catcher´s sites, bear photo station for wildlife lovers, farmer with shepperd-dog breeding station, and so on.
It was a nice time spent with friends and a lot of inspiration for all of us. So we can continue!
