CE-HEAT at the Public consultation event on Energy cooperatives in Bovec

In steps of first energy cooperative formed in year 1992 in a little secluded town Bovec, in picturesque Soca valley, a consultation event on the thematic of Energy cooperatives took place. The event was organized by ZENS (Association for energy autarky of Slovenia) and GOLEA (Local energy agency Nova Gorica), hosted by municipality Bovec on 7 June 2017.
Various speakers have presented the experiences of forming energy cooperatives from Slovenia, but also abroad and various possibilities for project funding. The potential for energy cooperative for implementation of biomass district heating system, already in the design phase, was also outlined. In lively discussion wrapping up the consultation, different proposals were given, but also the question of utilizing nearby Letrika company waste heat stream was raised. The CE-HEAT initiative was presented to companies and experts interested in sustainable energy solutions and possibilities of additional utilization of waste heat from industrial processes were given focus. Hopefully, a new biomass DHS will bring fresh wind - air to the green township of Bovec.
