During these years, we tried to help as many SMEs as possible either with knowledge transfer and by sharing and using different tools, as well as with concrete solutions from mechatronics, design, food safety and labelling.

I-Con project was presented at the 169th EAAE Seminar on System Dynamics and Innovation in Food Networks in Garmisch-P, Germany. The forum features presentations and discussions that should foster exchange, creativity, and the development of new ideas for innovative and interdisciplinary research. As part of the program, on the 20 February 2019, Campden BRI Hungary presented its experiences related to the applicability of practical assessment toolkits on determination of the needs of SMEs in food safety, quality and cost effectiveness.

An article on "Food SMEs needs on food safety, labelling" has been presented at the 11th International European Forum (Igls-Forum) by Adrienn Hegyi from Campden BRI Hungary.



The food sector together with other value-chain related sectors represents one of the most important, potential fields to leverage improvement of socio-economic situation in remote areas. Understanding of their needs, challenges are crucial and also support them with practical solutions to handle their challenges in time.

Mrs. Susanne Braun, a representative of the University of Hohenheim I-CON team, is also partner of the Organic Food System Programme (OFSP), a programme on taking and further developing the organic food system as a pilot model and living laboratory to understand drivers of sustainable food consumption and to link this to real-world examples of sustainable production and consumption.
Overall, the central question is how to make food systems more sustainable?
